Hundred Islands National Park
Hundred Islands National Park is one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. It is only 50km away or 1-1.5 hour drive so it is an excellent day trip destination when staying in Patar.
Being a protected area, resorts are not allowed to set up in any of the 124 islands within the national park so if you want to stay overnight in a beachfront resort, Patar is an excellent take of point to visit the Islands.
Hundred Islands National Park consist of 124 small Islands scattered in a 16.76 square kilometers of the ocean in Alaminos Pangasinan. The Islands are said to be ancient corals from the seabed an ancient sea more about 2 million years ago. Through the years, it has developed a mushroom shape due to erosion from the continuous movement of the ocean.
You can get to this breathtaking marvel by hiring a boat to to take you around the Islands. There are a few developed Islands for tourists namely Governors, Marcos, Quezon, and Childrens Islands. The rest of the Islands are largely undeveloped and great for relaxing and getting away from the crowd.
Many of the Islands have white sand beaches and every Island has a personality of its own. Whether you like caves, beaches, boating, snorkeling or simply relaxing, there is something for everybody at the hundred islands.
